IMG_7485_edited.JPG

I'm Carol Hill, owner of A Touch of Class. I have been crafting for most of my life. I have worked with so many mediums, from tole painting, sewing, cooking, to wood working and vinyl signs.   I make tole painted ornaments, fabric pinecone ornaments. 8 oz. jars of jelly - Apricot Red Pepper, Jalapeno, Raspberry Chipotle, White Zinfandel, Merlot & Pomegranate.  In addition there is Carmel Spiced Pear, Cranberry Salsa, Roasted Garlic & Pickled Garlic. I also make fudge: Peanut Butter, Dark & White with or without nuts, and Lemon and Mint.

I work with rustic reclaimed wood to make birdhouses, frames, patriotic decor, snowmen and pumpkins.  Each has it's own character .

I enjoy working with clay, finding this wonderful medium both relaxing and invigorating.  I am inspired by the infinite creative possibilities, through both hand-building and throwing on the wheel.  My pottery creations range from small Angel ornaments with positive affirmations to whimsical bowls to dragon sculptures, from hanging art pieces that feature horses, dandelions, lotus flowers and much more, to fanciful vases and dipping bowls.  I like to play with different firing and decorating techniques, using an electric kiln, pit-firing, and raku firing.

I am grateful for both the inspirations and opportunities to create these unique pottery pieces, and for those that take pleasure in providing them a new home – thank you!

I’m Suzy, and have been with A Touch of Class now for a couple of years.  I am so excited! My infatuation is all things beady, with a special penchant for bead woven jewelry – earings, brooches, bracelets, necklaces.  Each piece is created one bead at a time. Brooches and necklaces may also feature paper collage under glass, small images accented with glitter or gears and sometimes both! I will also have cork and ultrasuede wallets and coin purses, dog beds, cat toys, and eyeglass/sunglass cases.

I began my love with clay after my son was born in 1976 and have never looked back progressing from a studio in the garage to the family room to a full blown studio in Fairbanks as well as Nevada.

Whimsy with function is my goal with work.  I  use a combination of slab, wheel-thrown and extruded techniques to make pieces. All pieces, except raku, are microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe. My recent work involves slip painting each piece while still damp with various techniques learned in a class this past winter with Carol Gouthro.  They are then fired once (bisque), then glazed with a clear glaze and fired a second time in either gas or electric kilns depending on the clay body.  If  my pieces make you smile while using them, they have succeeded in their purpose. Enjoy!

My name is Theresa Ramsey. I’ve spent time in Montana going to college and learning how to garden fruits, berries, and vegetables and to preserve (can) vegetables, jellies, sauces, BBQ sauces, fruit and berry based preserves. I also learned from my mom and have been around preserving most all my life. I have a large berry garden with blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, strawberries, raspberries, and elderberries and an orchard of apples, peaches, plums, apricots, pears, and nectarines. I love to make fruit and or berry based jams and sauces and mix and match several berries and fruits together.
It’s important for me to use only fresh produce. I am able to use about 50% less sugar which makes the fruit and/or berries more flavorful and not have a store bought sugar taste.
I will do special orders with a minimum of 6 8oz. jars.  I absolutely love creating jams and sauces.

I have a background in art, having taken many art classes over the years and my love for beads has led me to doing what I do now. I retired from property management in Southern California and 10 years ago my husband and I resettled in beautiful Carson Valley. It is an inspiring place, and the chimes do well in this weather as long as they are appreciated and taken care of. I love my new "job" and delight in meeting the locals and sharing experiences.

My husband and I moved to the beautiful Washoe Valley in 2002. I became interested in fused glass and the techniques to make these pieces in 2004. I took a bunch of classes and bought a kiln in 2014 when I retired. I have been part of the A Touch of Class craft show for many years.

To me working with glass is fascinating. There are many different techniques that are used to create unique effects in the project. Change one technique and the whole project looks different. Each firing of the kiln can produce "surprises" both good and bad.

These projects have infinite of uses beyond decoration. They are great for candles, jewelry, keys, coins, guest soap, trinkets, bedside medicine and more. Each is one of a kind work of art and they are washable. Since they are created at very temperatures. They are easily heat tolerant up to 500 degrees or higher. Glass doesn't even get soft until roughly 900 degrees.

Hi, I'm Stacy and I am the owner of TePartyBlooms. I live in Minden, NV and am a registered Nurse at a local hospital. i started working with wood flowers as a fun project for my son and daughter n law's wedding. Sola wood flowers are great alternative to fresh and artificial. They are sustainably sourced, can be painted any color and are uniquely beautiful. Texture is similar to foam or cork. I love painting the flowers in all different colors and arranging them. It's relaxing to me and allows me to unwind, especially after a long week of work, The idea for teacups and teapots came to me during a quick trip to a thrift store. All of my tea party pieces are unique. I also design bouquets, corsages, and party favors. Hopefully you will enjoy these creative pieces as much as I do!
