I create mostly western clay art using a special process. I use clay and various stains, paints, and ink. When it is finished it looks like leather. I use recycled base pieces (frames, wood, etc). Every piece is a ONE OF A KIND! Take a look at my website: www.definitelycreative.org I also make several other crafted items including handmade greeting cards, Christmas ornaments, rock art, and 3 different types of cookies. This year I have added gnomes, painted rocks, covered journals, and stacked book decor.

You can also find my Clay art in Gadzooks located in Gardnerville, NV, and the NAA Gallery in Carson City NV.

I enjoy working with clay, finding this wonderful medium both relaxing and invigorating.  I am inspired by the infinite creative possibilities, through both hand-building and throwing on the wheel.  My pottery creations range from small Angel ornaments with positive affirmations to whimsical bowls to dragon sculptures, from hanging art pieces that feature horses, dandelions, lotus flowers and much more, to fanciful vases and dipping bowls.  I like to play with different firing and decorating techniques, using an electric kiln, pit-firing, and raku firing.

I am grateful for both the inspirations and opportunities to create these unique pottery pieces, and for those that take pleasure in providing them a new home – thank you!

Hello. For the past 18 years I have been fascinated with artist lampwork. Tiny glass beads, each individually fired, make unique and lovely jewelry pieces. I use them in making bracelets, watches, earrings, necklaces, pins and beaded bookmarks. I also make small one-of-a-kind gift cards; and enjoy hand-stitching onesies, burp cloths and baby bibs to match knitted receiving blankets. This year I will be making little girls' matching sets of scarves, mittens, hair embellishments, hats and bracelets.

I have been with the show now for a couple of years but am very familiar with A Touch of Class because my mom has participated in the show for quite a few years. I am going to be making some "Farm House" decor items as well as pumpkin bread (regular & sugar free), cranberry orange, zucchini, and banana breads. I will also be making bags of beer bread (just a beer and bake). Be sure to look for my cute Christmas ornaments too.

I’m Suzy, and have been with A Touch of Class now for a couple of years.  I am so excited! My infatuation is all things beady, with a special penchant for bead woven jewelry – earings, brooches, bracelets, necklaces.  Each piece is created one bead at a time. Brooches and necklaces may also feature paper collage under glass, small images accented with glitter or gears and sometimes both!

I began my love with clay after my son was born in 1976 and have never looked back progressing from a studio in the garage to the family room to a full blown studio in Fairbanks as well as Nevada.

Whimsy with function is my goal with work.  I  use a combination of slab, wheel-thrown and extruded techniques to make pieces. All pieces, except raku, are microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe. My recent work involves slip painting each piece while still damp with various techniques learned in a class this past winter with Carol Gouthro.  They are then fired once (bisque), then glazed with a clear glaze and fired a second time in either gas or electric kilns depending on the clay body.  If  my pieces make you smile while using them, they have succeeded in their purpose. Enjoy!

Theresa Ramsey

My name is Theresa Ramsey. I’ve spent time in Montana going to college and learning how to garden fruits, berries, and vegetables and to preserve (can) vegetables, jellies, sauces, BBQ sauces, fruit and berry based preserves. I also learned from my mom and have been around preserving most all my life. I have a large berry garden with blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, strawberries, raspberries, and elderberries and an orchard of apples, peaches, plums, apricots, pears, and nectarines. I love to make fruit and or berry based jams and sauces and mix and match several berries and fruits together.
It’s important for me to use only fresh produce. I am able to use about 50% less sugar which makes the fruit and/or berries more flavorful and not have a store bought sugar taste.
I will do special orders with a minimum of 6 8oz. jars.  I absolutely love creating jams and sauces.

Hello

My name is Wil Lemley and along with my lovely wife Linda we have been doing crafts for some 40 years now.  We do a wide range of crafts in many different mediums.  Cross stitching to wood turning, redwood burl clocks, pine cone reindeer, bolo ties and beyond.  We recycle and repurposed things as in our wine bottle bird feeders.  Half the fun of crafting is finding new ways to challenge our ability to create.

My name is Sylvia Roush.  This is my second year with A Touch of Class and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be on the other side of this event.  To me art is something very personal, it has to touch an emotion and be loved.  Each of my creations are made from my heart and hopefully will bring to you as much joy as it has me in its creation.  My Horse Shoes, Sun Catchers, Crosses and Garden Fairy Wands are made of wire, beads and stones.  Most can be displayed inside or outside to enjoy for all seasons.  I’m so blessed to have this opportunity to share my crafts in A Touch of Class art show.

I have been learning and creating with fluid art for about four years and it's become a huge passion for me! I use multiple techniques to pour-paint rocks, trivets, canvas, furniture, ornaments and all sorts of home décor.

I enjoy adding verses, phrases, shapes, and word art to embellish my pour-painted items as well. Most of my products are sealed with heat-resistant epoxy resin to provide a brilliant shine and protection for the colors beneath. My hope is to add beauty to people's homes with my art and joy to people who receive them as gifts.

I’ve been an arts and craft lover since childhood and my current passion is fused glass décor.  Pieces come in a variety of sizes to fit your budget, from 4-inch jewelry dishes, 6-inch plates and bowls, to beautiful lilies and larger bowls for display or your favorite salad or munchies. I also will be providing a myriad of “puddle pendants” of various colors and sizes, to fit on your own jewelry chain. And everyone’s favorite, 2-inch colorful hearts for your pocket, counter, or desk (great stocking stuffers). I look forward to seeing you at the show.

After years in the trades, general tinkering and much less detailed work they have decided to hone their crafts into more detailed woodworking. Focusing on hand tools and joinery is Matthew Griffin.
